If you're ready to test your mettle on the field with your top teammates, the Flag Football National Championships, held this January in Orlando, Florida, is the place to be.  Here's a rundown of everything you need to know to join in the fun.

Teams and officials will begin arriving on January 16th to settle in and get ready for a packed weekend of play. This multi-day event will not only allow you and your friends to have some fun in the sun this January, but the schedule also incorporates aspects that are welcoming to the whole family. Visit the multi-day calendar of events for details. Games will be played at Austin Tindall Park, in Kissimmee, FL, with overflow fields at Northeast Regional Park, in Davenport, FL. Plan ahead to arrive early so you won't miss a minute of the fun

This tournament is for everyone; men's, women's, co-ed and youth teams are all welcome to participate. Your team does not need to qualify to play. Not sure what size team suits you best or what style of play you want to try? Check out the Flag Football World Championship Tour's (FFWCT) rundown on available flag football divisions. There are a variety of styles of play, include contact and non-contact, competitive and recreational leagues, and with team sizes that vary from 4 V 4 to 9 V 9. Youth divisions are broken down by ages, from 6 to 17. Your team's cost to participate will vary depending on your team size and division. Prices start at $250, and costs generally range from $300 to $550 per team for adult divisions, and youth teams are $400 each. The allowable roster size for your team will depend upon the style of play and team size you choose.

How Do I Sign Up?

Registering for the 2018 Battle Orlando Flag Football National Championships is a snap. Simply have your roster together, and register online. $50 will hold your spot. Be advised that the Flag Football World Championship Tour has a firm sign up deadline of December 30th, 2018, by 7 p.m. No late entries will be accepted. Furthermore, battle points, which are extremely important in determining seeding in FFWCT hosted and sanctioned tournaments, are awarded to teams who sign up early, so don't put signing up for this event at the bottom of your to-do list.

Bragging rights are always a great takeaway from any event, and being part of a championship flag football run is no exception. Beyond earning the right to boast, there are also trophies at stake, an ideal accessory to all bragging rights. Winners can also take away cash prizes or earn a fully paid bid to the 2019 Flag Football World Championships so that the team legacy can continue.
