What to Know Before You Go: Disney’s New Toy Story Land

If you've ever wanted to live in Andy's world where toys come to life, then mark your calendars for the grand opening of Disney's latest attraction, Toy Story Land, on June 30, 2018!

When the newest Disney attraction opens, visitors will shrink to the size of toys, exploring a larger than life world where the toys have all the fun. As you make your way through giant crayons, Rubik's cubes, green army men, and other playthings, you'll encounter some of your favorite Toy Story characters and play with them on Toy Story Land's new rides.

Rides and Games

When you enter Toy Story Land, you'll be able to ride a roller coaster that Andy built, take a trip across the galaxy in an alien spacecraft, and try your hand at a popular rootin'-tootin', wild shootin' game.

Slinky Dog Dash Roller Coaster

After Andy got a Mega Coaster Play Kit, he built this curvy coaster that's fun for all ages. Climb aboard Slinky Dog to traverse the coaster's hills and drops through a world of building blocks surrounded by Andy's toys.

The largest ride in Toy Story Land, the coaster spans almost the entire park expansion and promises to be fun for the whole family. Be sure to smile for the picture-perfect photo opportunity on the ride since you may want it as a souvenir of your trip. (Note: The Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster will have a 38-inch height restriction)

Alien Swirling Saucers

Take a seat with the aliens on this ride which was created inside a play set that Andy won at Pizza Planet. As the aliens move around in their flying saucers, visitors will hang on tight in the rockets attached to the saucers. Join the aliens for this wild, spinning adventure while electronic space music sets the interstellar mood. You may even get the honor of being "chosen" by the claw! (Note: The Alien Swirling Saucers ride will have a 32-inch height restriction)

Toy Story Mania!

Inside Andy's room, you'll find an exciting virtual gallery of carnival games. On an early 20th-century-inspired carnival tram, you'll take aim at objects brought to life through 3D glasses in a series of fast-paced games. Beloved characters like Hamm & Eggs, Rex & Trixie, Buzz, and Woody lead you through five games where you'll knock down barnyard animals, pop balloons, toss baseballs and rings, and throw darts.

Your sense of aim will be tested to the max and competing with friends and family for the highest score will add an extra layer of fun to the competition. Moving targets are worth more points, so make sure you practice your eye/hand coordination before playing. And wear clothes you don't mind getting a little wet as special 4D effects like air blasts and water sprays will add a sense of realism to hitting your targets and popping water balloons.

Character Encounters

One of the best parts of any Disney trip is meeting your favorite characters in real life! Toy Story Land will give you the chance to encounter your favorite toys, including Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie the Cowgirl. These characters will join the rest of the gang in greeting guests while they explore and play in the latest Disney attraction.

Woody's Lunch Box

When you're the size of a toy, a lunch box can seem like a giant walk-up restaurant. Woody's Lunch Box will be serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so no matter what time you try your luck as a toy, you'll find something great to eat. Featuring classic American fare and traditional soda floats, the Lunch Box will also feature Toy Story themed treats, so you'll feel like you're really eating in Andy's backyard.

Things to Know Before you Go

On Toy Story Land's opening day, Disney Hollywood Studios will be open for extended hours from 8am to 11pm to give visitors more time to celebrate the new attractions and Extra Magic Hours have been added throughout July for the Studios. Also, the current Pixar Place entrance will be moved closer to Toy Story Land, so make sure to check the updated map before you visit.
