Attend the 9th Annual Science of Wine event at Orlando Science Center

What's your idea of an incredible evening in Orlando? For those of us who enjoy quality wine and excellent food, the 9th Annual Science of Wine event at Orlando Science Center checks all the boxes. You'll taste world-renowned wines paired with delicious local food, learn an incredible amount about wine, and meet a bunch of people with similar interests.

Year after year, the Science of Wine event has brought people together to celebrate the finer things in life — all while raising money for a great cause. Let's take a look at everything you need to know about attending the Science of Wine event.

Delving into the Science and History of Wine Making

Whether you only drink wine occasionally or you're a wine-tasting aficionado, you're probably aware that winemaking (also known as vinification) is a complex process — with a surprisingly rich history. Artifacts dating back to 7,400 years ago show that human beings have been turning grape juice into wine for some time. In fact, some think that winemaking goes back even further, into the Paleolithic period! Whatever the case, humanity's fascination with the perfect glass of wine is nothing new.

Modern winemakers know that there's a complexity and subtlety to the science of making excellent wine. Indeed, there's even a name for the science of studying wine — oenology. At the Science of Wine event in Orlando, you'll dive deep into knowledge about fermentation, terroir, and wine tasting.

What to Expect at the Science of Wine Event

Year after year, the Science of Wine event has delivered an incredible experience to its guests. For its 9th year, the event is bringing 150 of the finest wines from all around the world to the event. In addition to the wine-tasting experience of a lifetime — and a treat for your inner sommelier — you'll also enjoy the delicious food pairings from local restaurants and chefs.

Though enjoying the world-class wine and food is definitely a major draw, the event is unique from ordinary tasting experiences in that it incorporates educational information throughout. You can attend cooking demonstrations and seminars that answer some common (and uncommon) questions about wine. Presentations on the science of wine will break down the processes of growing, farming, fermenting, bottling, and tasting wine.

Presented by Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, this is an unforgettable evening that promises world-class entertainment — and you won't want to miss it.

Raising Money for the Orlando Science Museum

As if the event itself wasn't incentive enough, guests can feel great about the cost of their ticket going towards support of the Orlando Science Center. This 501(c)(3) organization uses ticket costs from the Science of Wine event to help fund educational programs for children.

Children who attend programs at the museum get the chance to experience learning opportunities. They also have a fun time and get excited about science. The Science of Wine Event is the largest fundraiser for the Orlando Science Center.
