Bring Your Pets on Vacation: Local Favorite Orlando Area Dog Parks

While only service animals are permitted in the theme parks, the rest of Orlando is pet-friendly with lots of activities for dogs in particular. If you are vacationing with your pet, consider taking them to one of the city's many dog parks.

Barber park is located near the airport, which makes it great for travelers. It offers two large fenced sections, one for smaller dogs and the other for larger dogs. Both the large and small dog sections of the dog park are covered in grass, which means that your dogs may not get as dirty as they would in an all-dirt park. If they do get themselves dirty, Barber Park offers a washing station along with other amenities for dogs and their owners, including drinking stations and agility equipment.

The Park of the Americas offers separate fenced areas for dogs of different sizes that allows them to play off-leash. Also available are bag dispensers and waste baskets to make it easier for visitors to pick up after their pets. Dogs are free to walk through the rest of the park as long as they remain on-leash.

With two separate areas for large and small dogs to play, Dr. Phillips Park offers a great place for you to take your dog for some exercise and socialization. The park offers water fountains for both the large and small dog areas and there are also benches with umbrellas for owners to sit and watch their dogs.

Along with a washing station and easy access to the beach, Lake Baldwin Park has a large off-leash area that is easy to get to from the parking lot. There are plenty of benches and shaded areas for owners to relax while their dogs play. Dogs can lounge around or get active in the water, a nice option for your dogs on Orlando’s hot summer days. Lake Baldwin Park also has a fenced area for smaller dogs.
